Hi, I’m Zoë (she/her) and I’m a relational psychotherapist. My way of working helps you to listen to yourself more closely and begin to untangle the struggles that keep you in knots. It is a process of bringing the hard to reach, sometimes hidden, parts of yourself into the light, recognising patterns and better equipping you to make more informed choices about how you live your life.
As a therapist, I’m interested in all parts of your experience, particularly the social and environmental conditions you’ve learned to navigate, and how this navigating has influenced your experience of the world. Understanding the frame through which you view the world and how it impacts the choices you make is an essential part of the work.
My approach is integrative, meaning I use a number of different schools of thought to help me, help you, but mostly it is rooted in relational psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theories, and existential psychotherapy. I have experience working with a range of issues but particularly with relationship/family dynamics, emotional dysregulation, grief and loss, existential anxiety, mixed-heritage identity, anxiety and depression, and suicidal thoughts. If you’d like to know more about me or my practice you can visit my website at zoedoranpsychotherapy.com or send me an email at zoedorantherapy@gmail.com
My availability for in-person sessions is Thursday day time and for online sessions, it’s Mondays and Wednesdays.
